Fundus photography by Swept-Source is a digital camera that captures an image of the fundus (the back portion of the eye that includes the retina, posterior pole, fovea, macula, and optic is known as the fundus).
This digital camera has a specialized microscope attached that captures the optic nerve with contraction. This device helps in obtaining a better view of the fundus. Dilated fundus examination, or dilated-pupil fundus examination – DFE is a diagnostic procedure that requires the patient’s pupil to dilated with drops. With this examination, the ophthalmologist gets to obtain a better view of the fundus of the eye.
