Pioneering Innovations in Ophthalmology (PIO), the biggest ophthalmology conference of Pakistan successfully held their third occurrence dated 15th July, 2017 with a focus towards ‘New Advancement in VR surgery.’ Vitreoretinal Surgery has created massive changes over the years developing novel techniques, instruments and machines to aid in reducing surgical risks and better visual outcomes. The purpose of the event was to instigate, discover, discuss and unravel the best practices of VR surgery, managing any complications in Vitreo-Retinal procedures as well as utilizing the novel advancements to help support optimum surgical outcomes. The event allowed hundreds of younger physicians and practicing medical students to connect with leading ophthalmic surgeons and gain practical techniques in providing patients a more personalized approach to manage and maintain their vision health.
